Henry Hamilton rowed at Kent School and Columbia University and did his early competitive sculling at Vesper Boat Club. He has been a successful racing sculler for many years. He has won more than 40 medals in the single in the Head of the Charles, including six first place performances. He stroked the National Champion Open Quad in 1970 and has won many Gold medals in World Masters' Championships. In a recent US Masters Nationals competition (2007), he won the lightweight and heavyweight single in his age category and a total of five Gold medals and one Silver. He Has won his age category in the Head of the Charles three of the last four years. In the past Henry coached at Columbia University, Craftsbury Sculling Center, Christiania Roklub in Norway, Community Rowing in Boston and the Maine Rowing Association.
